What happens when I want a design?

After you have contacted us to let us know you would like to have us create a design with you, there is a simple process which follows...

Consultation and Site Survey
For a small fee (which is credited back onto the work you have done), you will receive a visit from one of our extremely experienced garden designers, who will conduct a complete site survey including measuring all dimensions and characteristics of the garden including soil type, use of different areas, light and shade and current planting.

Following the survey, the designer will work with you asking you questions about the type of garden you want, how you want to use it and how it should make you feel. This will help create an outline plan for using your available space to give you the garden you want.

During this time you will be shown a number of previous installations which may help feed your ideas and ensure every options is looked into.

Garden Design
Within 10 days of the initial consultation, you will have follow-on visit to show you the design. This design will be hand drawn and coloured, or computer generated and will show all the major points discussed in the previous consultation and site survey including all features, planting and an in depth quotations which will include a complete bill of quantities. If any changes are required at this point, they will be noted and effected.

If you want, at this time we can offer 2 quotations, one for a complete service with Gardencare construcing your new garden, and one where you receive a detailed plan of what needs to be done, and all the materials to do it.

Project Management
After the work has commenced, your original designer will make periodical visits to ensure everything is proceeding as expected. As stated in the Gardencare Guarantee, once your job is started the workers will be with you until completion so you can be assured of a swift conclusion once the work starts.
